Cory was saved in the winter of 1983 in rural Johnson County Texas. While fixing a water line under his brother’s mobile home with the temperature at 6 degrees, he had a personal visitation from the Lord to salvation which in itself is an amazing story. Richelle on the other hand was born again at the age of six.
Before Cory was in ministry he worked in the business and corporate world. He enjoys riding his Harley with his wife Richelle, along with researching history, traveling, camping out. His passion is being a Difference Maker and helping people realize they too can make a difference.
Prior to Richelle going into fulltime ministry, she worked as District Aide for our State Representative at that time. She enjoys song writing (Richelle has several songs listed with CCLI), riding the Harley with Cory, traveling, camping and playing the piano. She is also an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan.
Cory was the Executive Pastor at Lighthouse Church of Burleson and served there for 23 years. He held many positions through the years, from Pastor of Outreach, Dean of Students for the Christian Academy, Saturday Night Alive Pulpit Pastor just to name a few.
Richelle was the Worship Pastor at Lighthouse for the past eleven years, led the Tuesday morning Women’s Ministry for 15 years, and was also the church secretary for 7 years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Worship team for 17 years prior to taking the position of Worship Pastor.
My life message is very simple and was birthed in the beginning days of my ministry from a weekly ten to fifteen minute talk with my wife’s grandfather, Clyde Lewis.
That message consisted of becoming a person who focuses on Restoring Hope to all people through reconciliation and the mending of relationships. Life is not about choosing sides and declaring a winner. Life should be one of protecting, feeding, leading, and caring for people.
God gives to us so we can give back to others, therefore, with that in mind we need to open our eyes and really see the hurting people around us. Our goal should be to help them the best we can, not the least we can.
We need to provide a safe place for people to come and be Restored in every area of their lives. Jesus suffered on the cross so I could be Restored, so my life message is set.
